The Cleaners by Pizza Shack – Open in Downtown Brandon
March 4th 2022, Brandon MS – You probably noticed all the construction and renovation for the past year at the old Dry Cleaner building in Downtown Brandon, across from Burgers Blues Barbecue (and next door to BankPlus). After a great deal of renovation, design, sweat (and some $$), The Cleaners by Pizza Shack finally opened for business on March 1st 2022.
We asked owners Kyle Curcio and Ryan Patrick, is it a dry cleaner or restaurant? Said Patrick, “We wanted to retain the historical aspects of the building and the downtown area, while paying homage to the business that was there years ago. We did the same thing in Clinton when we renovated a former bank building. Our restaurant there is The Bank by Pizza Shack. We also have Pizza Shack in Madison, and now we’re super excited about being in Historic Downtown Brandon”.
Inside, you’ll find an eclectic ambiance with a retro 50’s vibe. Seating is available downstairs, upstairs, and on the front and side balconies. The bar is located upstairs, along with Mississippi’s first “beer wall”. The beer wall looks like a bunch of taps on top of laundromat washers, for a really cool look. The wall offers a selection of 21 draft beers, 2 ciders, and nitro brew, and is self-serve. Yep, that’s right! When you arrive downstairs, just pickup a beer wall bracelet (be sure to bring your ID). You’ll pay a $3 deposit for the bracelet, then use the bracelet to activate the beer wall. You can even choose your own glassware (mug) and frost it on your own (see video). When you checkout, turn in your beer wall bracelet, and they’ll have your tab ready, minus the $3 deposit. It’s a one of a kind experience.
The Cleaners by Pizza Shack is currently open for dinner only from 5p – 9p Sunday – Thursday, and 5p – 10p Friday & Saturday. Lunch hours are planned for the future, likely in April or May.
