The Brandon Chamber is Open for Business
May 8th 2023, BRANDON MS – On April 20th 2023, Brandon Chamber publicly announced the formation of a chamber of commerce for Brandon. The initial Board of Directors includes the original principals of Brandon042 Events, LLC, which produced the successful Brandon St Paddy’s Kids’ Parade in Downtown Brandon MS on Saturday March 18th.
Five additional business leaders were then added to the Brandon Chamber Board. These seven volunteers are excited and committed to the concept of a business chamber targeting the Brandon area, and looking forward to promoting existing and future area businesses.
“Our Board is excited about this endeavor. We are committed to growing our business community, while creating and hosting community activities and events. We’ve had a plan for this for a while, and even held our kids parade as a warm-up. We have a talented and motivated Board ready to move forward”, says Brandon Chamber President, Lance Stevens.
The day after the formation announcement, the Brandon Chamber held a Brandon Crawfish Boil for Law Enforcement and Fire Personnel. The event featured several hundred pounds of free crawfish and drinks, live music, and lots of law enforcement, fire and emergency staff in attendance. Boxes of crawfish were also delivered to the Rankin County Sheriff’s Office, for those who weren’t able to attend. The Brandon Chamber plans for the benefit crawfish boil to be an annual event.
Many events and other exciting ideas are planned for the near future. A trade and crafts show or two are in the works, as well as a car show, a 5k, and community events in various areas of town, plus promotions and civic programs right here in Brandon. The Brandon Chamber expects to announce a community fundraiser, for a wonderful cause, next week.
“We look forward to promoting business, commerce, and events here in Brandon, as well as special recognition programs for the community. In just the last year, our Mayor has said Brandon may need a Chamber, so we decided to step up and volunteer to get it started. There’s already a business organization for a part of the city and another for the entire county, so it makes sense that we create a Chamber for all of Brandon and contiguous areas, similar to what other cities have done for their own communities. Our focus will be all about Brandon and the unincorporated areas just outside our city. We’re now open and accepting applications for membership”, says Stevens.
