February 22nd 2022 – Brandon MS: As first reported by Brandon042® in July 2022, Planet Fitness is adding Brandon MS as its 7th location in the Central MS/Jackson area. Other metro area locations of PF include Pearl, Ridgeland, 2 in Jackson, Byram, and Clinton. This location , which is the former location of Piggly Wiggly (1574 W Government St, Brandon MS 39042), will be 16,000 square feet. Planet Fitness will serve as a new anchor for the shopping center, serving to revitalize the area. Ollie’s Bargain Outlet opened in the same shopping center in March 2020. The operating hours of will be be 24/5 (opening Sunday at midnight and not closing until 9pm on Friday and 7a to 7p on Saturday and Sunday).
Planet Fitness offers two types of membership… their regular $10 per month membership, as well as their “Black Card” membership for $24 per month, which includes access to all PF locations, as well as other amenities inside. The new Brandon location will have a Black Card spa for Black Card members that offers tanning beds and booths, including a hybrid tanning booth, hydro massage lounges, and massage chairs. Also coming soon is the new Wellness Pod and Cryo-Lounge. This location has an expected opening of early to mid April.
