Brandon Baseball Adds New Pressbox

February 22, 2024 – BRANDON MS – There’s a new addition to historic Mark Vinson Memorial Stadium. The Brandon Bulldog Baseball facility hosted a Ribbon Cutting this evening to debut a new, spacious pressbox. The stadium is believed to have been built in the 1940’s, and has undergone many renovations over the years. In 1985, the stadium was named in honor of Mark Vinson, a 1984 Brandon High School graduate, who was diagnosed with Leukemia in the 8th grade. Despite the diagnosis, Mark perservered and was an All-Star catcher for the Bulldogs, while also becoming an Eagle Scout, before passing from the disease in 1984.

Members of the Vinson family were on hand for the ribbon cutting, including Mark’s mother, Mrs Marty Vinson. The new press box was built from a variety of funds including those provided by Rankin County School District, the Brandon Bulldogs’ B-Club, and private donations. The Bulldogs host McGill-Toolen out of Mobile at 7pm this evening. For a complete schedule of Brandon Bulldog Baseball, CLICK HERE.
